The Memorial Celebration
Yesterday’s service was truly beautiful.
Beulah Alliance was packed. There were so many different people, from different generations, from different communities who have been impacted by Julian, and have been saddened by his death.
Everyone who spoke was vulnerable in their sadness, but clear in their affection for Julian. The service was over 2 hours long, and nobody wanted it to end. It was well past 8pm before the last of us left the church’s reception hall.
John McNicoll finished the service with his benediction: “Go in peace and serve the Lord. Love God, love each other, and love kids. And do it with all your heart, like our friend Julian.”

Ella and Kathy arrive home
Ella and Kathy arrived safely at 12:30 yesterday from Kamloops. Ella had all her close friends waiting for her in the backyard where there was food, candy, friends and love. Everett was so happy to see his mom and his sister.
Please continue to pray for the family. Thank you so much for all your love and support.

Everett Update
I just wanted to pass on a brief update on Everett. Grandpa is doing a great job taking care of Everett while mommy is in Kamloops helping Ella get better. Everett is going to the park, playing with his trucks, jumping on the trampoline and spending all day holding onto Choncho (teddy bear) and enjoying endless hours with his pacifier.
Everett is sleeping well and has enjoyed having stories read to him and songs sung. He is eagerly looking forward to seeing his mommy and big sister when they get back.
Julian Dabbagh: Feb 9, 1975 - Jun 14, 2008
Republished from the Edmonton Journal (Link)
DABBAGH, Julian Karim Passed away tragically on June 14, 2008 at the young age of 33 near Kamloops, BC. Julian is predeceased by father, Tariq Dabbagh and survived by mother, Vera Solounias; stepfather, Reverend Father Basil Solounias; brother, Jason Dabbagh; and sister, Michelle Solounias. Julian was born February 9, 1975 and leaves behind his wonderful wife, Kathy and three fantastic children, Ella (4), Everett (2), and a baby due in November. Julian had such a zeal for life. His infectious smile, engaging and warm personality made others just want to be around him. When he greeted you with a “Hey buddy” and open arms, you just felt better about yourself. Julian loved the Lord, he loved Kathy, and he loved his children. Nothing made Julian happier than sharing his life with Kathy and being with his kids. He also loved hundreds of teens who he worked with at Ross Sheppard High School and throughout the west end of Edmonton. He always knew that the love he had for others was the direct result of the love God had for him and he was deeply committed to helping others know and experience this great love and the hope he had in Jesus Christ. Julian loved his hockey, his Edmonton Oilers, and his friends. When he could do something to combine all three, he was on top of the world. We will all deeply miss Julian’s generosity of spirit, his selflessness, and his contagious enthusiasm. He was an example for us all to model our own lives after. A Celebration of Julian’s Life and testimony to his faith in Jesus Christ will be held at Beulah Alliance Church, 17504 - 98A Avenue NW, Edmonton, on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. On Saturday evening, a viewing for friends and family will be held at Laurier Heights Baptist Church, 8505 - 142 Street, Edmonton, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (friends 6:00 p.m., YL students 7:00 p.m. and the Dabbagh family 8:00 p.m.). In lieu of flowers, a Trust Fund for Kathy and their children has been established. Please make your gifts payable to “Jason Dabbagh in Trust”. May His Memory Be Eternal. Ella’s fever
Ella has come down with a fever and the doctors would like her in the hospital for a while longer. Every indication is that she is recovering well, but we aren’t completely out of woods. The doctors are being aggressively cautious which we are very grateful for. Ella is being transfered to The Stollery Children’s Hospital as soon as beds are available. The chair of pediatrics, Lionel Dibden, is helping. He is a friend and neighbour of Julian whose son Adrian has been a part of the Young Life group at Shep and is a very close friend of Julian.
Please pray
The family was hoping to have Ella transfered back home today. However, there are some potential concerns by the doctors with how well Ella is (or is not) eating and her discharge from the hospital may not be until Saturday. Kathy is really very tired and is also still quite sore from the accident. Please keep them in your prayers.
Dabbagh Update
Ella will be released from the Kamloops hospital tomorrow, June 20th and will be flying back to Edmonton with Kathy, Grandma Sue, John M and Dave T. Everett and Grandpa Gord travelled back to Edmonton today by air so that Everett could sleep in his own bed - he was so excited to crawl into his own bed and fell quickly to sleep for his afternoon nap. When we arrived at the house today, we were incredibly touched to see that Kathy and Julian’s neighbours had taken it upon themselves over the past couple days to complete the landscaping job that was still outstanding in their front yard. - Brad Sorenson
